A 1969 Chevrolet C20 cab and title on a 1969 GMC C1500 chassis, two trucks made into one solid one. It comes with a clear California title, a rebuilt TH400, a new fuel tank and exhaust, and the parts to finish the bed and doors already bought. It needs a new owner to finish what was started.
The truck began as a 1969 GMC C1500 that arrived with a badly rusted cab, no bed and no title. A heavily damaged 1969 Chevrolet C20 supplied what the GMC was missing: a clear title and a cab in excellent condition. The two were merged. The Chevrolet's cab and identity sit on the GMC's chassis, running gear and front end, which is why the paperwork reads ¾-ton Chevrolet while the truck underneath is ½-ton GMC, with 5-lug wheels, a 10-bolt rear end and the GMC grille.
The door plate VIN begins CE249Z86 and carries a 7,500 lb GVW rating: a two-wheel-drive, V8, ¾-ton Chevrolet pickup built at Fremont, California. The full VIN goes to serious buyers directly.
Body and Paint
The cab wears its old yellow, worn through to primer and bare metal in places, with heavy surface rust across the roof. On Flat Broke Speed's inspection, the cab, rockers and floors look solid. With no bed on the GMC, the only usable bed to be found was a long bed, and it was shortened to fit, a common modification on these trucks. The shortened bedsides on it now are in gray primer and show rust along the seams. A complete left and right pair of new short-bed reproduction bedsides was later bought to do the bed properly, and they ride in the bed. A new pair of door skins, left and right, also comes with the truck; they are not in the photographs.
Chassis and Suspension
GMC C1500 chassis and front end. Power steering and power brakes. A new fuel tank is mounted under the bed, and the exhaust is new.
Engine and Drivetrain
A 350 small-block that ran well when the truck was parked, backed by a TH400 rebuilt by a transmission shop. The shop drove the truck to the storage lot where it has sat for more than seven years, and it has not been started since. A core transmission comes with it.
Interior
The gauges are in the cluster. The bench seat is a later-style replacement and the steering wheel is aftermarket. The firewall shows it was an air-conditioned truck; the A/C components are no longer with it. The truck was wired to drive, not wired for the road, and a complete rewire is the right place to start.
Condition
This is a stalled project sold as found. It has not been cleaned, and no attempt has been made to get it running after seven years of sitting. Everything in the photographs goes with the truck, including the parts and boxes in the bed and cab, along with the new door skins.
Documentation and Paperwork
Clear California title in the Chevrolet's VIN, a duplicate issued in September 2026.
Location and Viewing
The truck is in Poway, California. It rolls and steers, but after seven years parked it should leave on a trailer or flatbed. Viewing by appointment.
